Title: The Fountainhead
(November 29, 2024) I am currently reading The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, by Stephen Chbosky. I am really digging this book! Mr Chbosky keeps making reference to all these books the main character reads throughout the novel. The story goes that the main character’s English teacher is always recommending books and then afterwards they meet and discuss. The main character even calls this teacher by his first name. As I was reading, I had an idea to request one of the recommendations from the story from my real life, local library. Once I am finished, I’ll let y’all know what I think. The name of the book I requested is The Fountainhead, by Ayn Rand. On page 165 of The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, Bill (the teacher) says of this book, ‘“Be skeptical about this one. It’s a great book. But try to be a filter, not a sponge.”’
I came to the conclusion shortly into the story that it wasn’t my cup of tea. It felt to me very dry. However, be my guest, and if you do make it through, please let us know what you think.
