I have seen Mz. Jewel’s name splashed across many an amazing novel cover. So, I just had to give her a try. I am so happy I did! When I picked this up from my local library the librarian had told me how great this story is. No need to twist my arm, home it came and there I quickly cracked the cover.
Immediately I was hooked. Imagine two women: Josie and Alix, forging a friendship over weeks of interviewing for content of a new podcast series. Now imagine the podcast guest, Josie, has an unnatural obsession with the host, Alix. Josie was even so bold as to inform Alix that she thought the pair of them would both respectively be better off without their husbands in the picture. Like, in the picture at all.
As Alix digs deeper into the psyche of Josie the more disturbed she becomes and the more she is excited for whatever this podcast could become. Based on this tale that Josie is spinning her husband was a pedophile that began grooming her in her early teens. They went on to get married to celebrate Josie’s 18th birthday. She claimed all sorts of abuse through the years, but the lies were getting themselves tangled up with each other. Will Alix be able to figure out the truth from the deceit before it’s too late?
This was a fast-paced tale of passion and a dangerous obsession. I highly recommend it!
