Title: Crooked

Yes! This is the one! If you cannot tell I absolutely loved this book! Mr. Kalteis has such a unique way with words that’ll wrap you right up and hold you tight! All the action kept me up through to the wee hours of the morning.

I watched the Dillinger movie back in the day and thought that was well told. So is this. You cannot help but love Alvin in all his bad-boyed-ness. When you think of the character Alvin, think Dillinger without the good public relations. They even make that comment in the book.

My favorite scene was of a bank robbery. All the traffic is backed up both ways through the streets of small town America, due to the shoot out between the bank robbers and the coppers. These fellas just get in their getaway car and carve a path straight through town, ploughing through bumper-to-bumper traffic. Those that did not get out of the way were pushed out of the way like driving a big tank. Absolutely the most fun piece of literature I’ve read in a while. I highly recommend giving this author, Mr. Kalteis, a go.
