Never Lie

Title: Never Lie

The idea behind this story was of a lovely young couple venturing out into a snowstorm turned blizzard to view a house they were considering purchasing. Things went south fast for this unsuspecting couple. Not only were they in the middle of nowhere, but their car was stuck in a snow drift and the snow had no intention of letting up anytime soon, they had no cell service to reach out for help, and it’s starting to appear they may not be alone in this house. Yikes!

Close to the beginning of this story I was so sure I had everything figured out, but boy was I wrong! I even for a short period of time pondered if I’d indeed gotten my hands on a ghost story. Again, boy was I wrong. Mz. McFadden did a fantastic job of keeping the reader on the edge of their seat and staying awake into all hours of the night dying for just one more page.

The only downside (for me) was that the premise and ending were so extremely far-fetched. I am starting to believe that might just be Freida McFadden’s style. Once upon a time I read Mz. McFadden’s The Housemaid and I recall the big reveal in that story being a bit on the fantastic side as well.

Fun fact: did you know there are earthquakes on the moon? They’re called moonquakes.

In all, this was a very good book. If you have a large imagination.
