Title: The Martian
I picked this book up as a recommendation by my nephew. Along with the fact the movie adaptation was the last movie I ever saw with my dad before he passed, a long time ago. The book cover even claimed it was ingenious and funny. So I was excited to finally get the time to sit down with it.
I didn’t get the jokes. I’m not into botany which is what the main character was doing. Using his knowledge of botany to create a garden on Mars after he was left by the exploration team for dead. I have the opposite of a green thumb. Could that be called a brown thumb? So I definitely was not the target audience for this book.
However, just because it wasn’t my cup of tea doesn’t mean it won’t be right up your alley. So please, leave us your thoughts.
