Author: Sarah J. Maas

Title: Throne Of Glass

Another accomplishment! Mz. Maas has made me want to continue my reading journey into the realms of reality the next book in succession will explore. My mission is to read this series through to the final fight scene. Or until she loses my interest. Whichever happens first.

I joked as I was reading this, that if we are what we read than I was training to become an assassin. But seriously, it kind of reminded me a bit of The Hunger Games mixed with The Last Kingdom mixed a bit with Harry Potter throw in some Disney Princess’s and some Ghost Adventures and you have the story of Caleana. This book was satisfying on so many levels.

Spoiler alert: in the final duel with Cain did it make sense for Caleana to take pity on Cain and not kill him? He was dangerously knowledgeable of wyrdmarks and how to properly use them for the full and magically evil effect.  Especially when he could so easily use this dark magic to collaborate with the evil king and in turn make the king even more evil? She’s an assassin. And she picks now to develop a conscience?

About the final fight scene. I was a bit on the fence as it took place multi-dimensionally. Both in the here and now, as outlined per the book as well as in the realm/dimension of the dead and other evil monsters. In the end I fell on the side of the fence that approves. It was different, but sometimes different is a good thing.
