Title: I Am Legend
Page 21 and I am stunned by the differences in storylines between this book and the Will Smith movie, I Am Legend. Like, I don’t even know why they identified with the same title. In the book Robert Neville is a white man with blond hair that exists in 1976 and is not even in possession of a dog. In the book the monsters identify as vampires and they are intelligent enough to throw stones; taunt Mr. Neville whilst using full sentences; and the women vampires even went so far as to make lewd gestures in an attempt to draw him out of the house.
Alas, Mr Robert -no dog- Neville’s first defense against the blood thirsty hooligans is strings of garlic strung across all the windows. My question is, if these intelligent beings truly wanted to flush Mr Neville out of his fortress a flaming projectile would surely do the job. Burning his house down is only but one of many options. I could keep going, but I shan’t.
How disappointing. I was really looking forward to reading this because I love the movie.
