Title: Intermezzo
This is an in-depth look into how now-a-days the traditional relationship has been flip turned upside down and on its head. I pondered as I read about judging a couple from the outside looking in. Are things always as they appear? For example: you see a man and woman walking together and assume, based on your information of traditional relationships that they are together. However, this book proves that sometimes love finds us in triplet (known as a throuple), not just in pairs. And sometimes in a relationship age is just a number. These brothers are both prime examples that happiness can be found outside the box.
This question, which is actually a logic puzzle, keeps making an appearance within this text, so I am moved to share. Found on p. 252, ‘The puzzle was about a liar who always lies, and the liar says: “All my hats are green.” Now, can we conclude that he has some hats? … Or is it possible he doesn’t have any hats at all?’ After stating this, Mz. Rooney then launches us down an avenue of thought so off the beaten path I had to read it several times to grasp, though loosely, what she was presenting me. I shan’t even attempt an explanation because I’d bungle it.
Regardless, hats or no hats I definitely recommend this story as Mz. Rooney has such a way with words, I found her prose to be highly intoxicating.
