Title: The Assassin’s Blade
I was told about this series of books recently and ever since I’ve been hearing whispers around town of how great it is. And truly they were not wrong! This book is so smartly written. How ever did Mz. Maas come up with this entire race of people, names of countries and cities within as though it had always existed in the realm beyond the authors’ imagination?
There were a few parts that I found that I could pick apart, but it wasn’t enough to stop me from reading on and being happy that I did. I am excited to get to the next story.
Truly great fight scenes abound throughout this selection of novellas that seemed almost as though one continuous chapter book as opposed to individual stories.
Celaena was a wily one and known well for her skill as an assassin. As she killed her way through the cities and countryside she made some terrible enemies.
*Spoiler alert*
They say to love and to lose is better than to never have loved at all.
We should ask Celaena what she thinks after being lured into a trap and losing the love of her young life.
I definitely recommend this story(s)! I believe you’ll agree that scene after scene triumphed with great swordplay and action that would make any medieval author/reader proud.

Title: The Crown of Midnight
Another hit and nailed it out of the park! I loved this book as well! I feel honestly like I’m becoming a part of the assassin family. This title revealed there was more that ran through Caleana’s veins than just assassin blood.
As this story unfolds Caleana becomes more and more entwined with the royal family. She has been summonsed to fight to become the king’s champion. Which basically means that on one hand she gets to stay alive and on the other she has to kill as the king instructs her to. No questions asked. (No $200 if she passes go.) Which would have been a lot easier if she actually liked the king. Yet as his champion she must do as bid. Or does she…?

Holy guaca-mole she did it again! This book was stuffed full of action scene after action scene. Again, Mz. Maas fails us not.
Dive into this book and take a ride with three coven’s worth of witches joined together for the same goal. To train whilst flying through the heavens and hills and playing as nice with each other as can be expected of enemy witches.
Meet Caleana as a starry-eyed lover, whilst practicing previously untapped stores of magic. Yes! Other than being an accomplished and unbeaten-as-of-yet-assassin, she also contains her own brand of magic and shapeshifting abilities! Everyone involved is honing their magical skills to prepare for the next impending battle against and alongside the evil forces that rule the lands. Who will come out on top? You’ll have to read to find out.
